The Bucks County Physician Hospital Alliance is a partnership between the nearly 400 members of the Doylestown Independent Practice Association and Doylestown Hospital.
The Bucks County Physician Hospital Alliance (BCPHA) was founded in 1989 and is among the most established physician-hospital organizations in the nation. The BCPHA is a vehicle for physician-hospital alignment on reimbursement, government relations and other challenges facing the practice of medicine.
The Doylestown Independent Practice Association (IPA), founded in 1986, is a physician organization dedicated to improving medical practices in our Central Bucks County, PA marketplace. The IPA provides a forum for the discussion of contemporary issues from the politics of healthcare to quality improvement and practice governance.
Doylestown Hospital is a comprehensive, community-focused, 208-bed healthcare facility serving patients and families in the northern suburban communities of Philadelphia, including Bucks and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania and Hunterdon and Mercer Counties in New Jersey. Founded in 1923 by the Village Improvement Association, the hospital offers outpatient services at four sites.
Chief among the benefits of membership in the IPA and BCPHA is inclusion as a Tier 1 provider in the Doylestown Hospital Associate healthcare plan, which includes over 1,800 families. The self-insured plan covers insureds who use Tier 1 providers 100%. Members of the IPA and BCPHA also receive priority and assistance through Doylestown Hospital initiatives, such as the Doylestown Clinical Network electronic medical record system.
